In crisis? Call or text 988, any time, day or night. If you or someone else is in danger right now, call 911. Hearthmoor is not a crisis service, and our phones are not answered overnight.

Fees and sliding scale

Know the cost before you begin.

Our fees are in plain view because counseling should not require a financial guessing game.

$140 for a 50-minute individual session

$160 for couples and families

Who qualifies?

Anyone who lives or works in Vermont. Tell us your income and household size on the first call. We do not ask for pay stubs or tax returns.

What you pay depends on what your household earns.

For each additional person in your household, add $9,000 to every income line.

“I put off calling for two years because I thought I could not afford it. My first session cost $30.”

If $15 is still too much

Say so. We will work it out. Nobody is turned away over money.

Insurance

Vermont Medicaid and Medicare are accepted with nothing to pay here. We accept several private plans, so call to check yours. If your deductible is high, the sliding scale may cost less and we will tell you which is cheaper.

Good Faith Estimate

If you pay without insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate of what your care will cost.

Missed appointments

Please give 24 hours’ notice. Your first missed session is free. After that, the fee is half your usual session fee.

Want to talk through your options?

We can explain the scale, insurance, and the next available appointment during your first call.

Ask for a first appointment

You do not need to have it all figured out before you call.

We will take it one conversation at a time.
